Traditional Cretan Taverna

Are you staying in Crete, in the neighbourhood of Rethymnon (north coast) and do you want to eat real Cretan food, for a payable price? Come and visit Taverna Poppy, within 10 kilometres east of Rethymnon, in the coast-town Adelianos Kampos. 

Taverna Poppy is owned by the Vrodakis - Theodorakis family. The family consists of: Andreas, Poppy and their son Manolis. Most of the time you'll  find Andreas in the kitchen. His specialty: meat-courses. But of course all the other meals are no problem at all. Poppy is the hostess. She can advise you what to eat and services you what you’ve chosen. Besides, Poppy makes fresh pizza’s daily. Pizza’s and meals from the oven are her specialty. Manolis helps his parents frequently. Especially in summer-time, during university holidays.

The menu shows you a choice of dishes. If you like, Poppy will advise you what to eat. A few examples: snacks, salads, omelets the real Greek appetizers: saganaki, keftedakia, dolmadakia, taramosalata, tzaziki. Traditional main dishes: stifado, moussaka, stuffed tomatoes and lamb shops. Also pasta’s and pizza’s are served. For vegetarians there’s enough to chooce. For children there’s a children’s menu.
